MARILYN MALTBY

Marilyn volunteers as a trained Master Naturalist to help people of all ages look closely at plants, animals, birds, and natural objects. After years of gardening wildflowers, she studied botanical art and came to appreciate that drawing is a form of 'deep looking'.

"Studying the beauty and complexity of plants nourishes my admiration for the natural world. I claim that a pencil is the best tool for anyone to really see nature."

Marilyn blends her lifelong practice as an artist with her other fascinations -- gardening, fiber & thread, birding, and Citizen Science. Her work has been shown at Artistry, the Bakken Museum, ASBA 'small works' exhibitions, and Great River Chapter annual exhibitions "Inspired by Nature".
