MARCIA WHITMORE

I am a retired teacher/fine arts coordinator from Orion, Illinois... my house is in Coal Valley, Illinois... a few miles from Orion. I received a BA from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and MS from Western Illinois University. After teaching many grade levels in art and self contained classrooms of elementary children, I now have time for other things I love... growing orchids, conserving native orchids and painting orchids from my collection.

I have taught many classes to children and some classes to teachers. I display my work in local shows and also have displayed in American Orchid Society shows in Madison, WI, DesMoines, IA, Fairchild Botanical Gardens, Quad Cities Botanical Gardens, Quad City International Airport and Studios in the Park, Paso Robles, CA. My watercolors were used in Spotlight, in the American Orchid Society Journal, ORCHIDS and also in the journal of the Native Orchid Club.
